Database Architect - SQL Server

What you will do:

• Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to ensure robustness,performance, and scalability of both SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Lead projects related to database migrations, ensuring seamless transitions between different database systems.
• Architect and design database solutions that meet the demands of modern applications and data processing needs.
• Continuously monitor and optimize database performance using techniques suitable for both SQL and NoSQL environments.
• Implement robust database security measures and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
• Refactor stored procedures, database scripts, and data models for cross-compatibility and performance.
• Provide expertise on the nuances, strengths, and weaknesses of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Work in a dynamic, agile setting, being adaptable to changing requirements and priorities.
• Offer mentorship and guidance on best database practices and solutions within the team.
• Develop, sustain, and optimize full-stack solutions, emphasizing backend database interactions and performance.

What we expect from you:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in database engineering.
• Proficiency and extensive experience with both SQL Server and Postgres.
• Experience with DynamoDB or MongoDB is a huge plus.
• In-depth knowledge of data management practices, including normalization, indexing, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker.
• Proven experience in large-scale database migrations, transitions, and refactoring projects.
• Excellent communication skills, able to liaise effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and the ability to anticipate future database needs.
• Experience in an Agile work environment.
